Commitments & Charter
Last updated 2026-07-13 · These are promises we intend to be held to.
Most companies write values that cost nothing to break. These are different: each one below is a line Avieros will not cross, written down where you can hold us to it. Where a promise is already enforced by the way the system is built, we say how. Where it is a commitment we have not finished making structural yet, we say that too — plainly, in the same place — rather than implying it is done.
1. We never sell placement
Avieros Search shows no ads and sells no ranking positions. You cannot pay us to rank higher, to appear first, or to push a competitor down. Ranking is decided by the published methodology and the exact factors and weights on the Transparency page — not by who paid.
There is no advertising business inside Avieros Search, so there is no machine whose revenue depends on selling your attention or a vendor's position. Removing the incentive is what makes the promise real — not a policy we could quietly reverse.
2. We never compete with our own members
When a business runs on Avieros, we can see a lot: its sales, its customers, its pricing, its suppliers. We will never use any of that to build, operate, or advantage a business that competes with it. This is the private-label trap — where a platform studies its best sellers and then launches a rival — named and refused.
It is built into the data, not just the rulebook. The systems that learn across the platform may only look at aggregate patterns drawn from at least five different businesses at once, with no per-business identifier in that layer at all. A single member's edge is invisible to those systems by construction — enforced by the shape of the database and its triggers, not by a promise to behave.
3. You own what you build
Your business on Avieros is yours. You can bring in a co-owner, name a successor, sell it to another member, pass it on, or wind it down and walk away with every byte of your data. Avieros records ownership, stakes, and transfers so those rights are real and enforceable inside the platform.
Avieros is not a lawyer, a registrar, a cap-table system of record, or a tax authority. These platform records complement your real-world legal entity and paperwork — they link to your outside records rather than claiming to replace them. Treat them as a faithful ledger of what happened here, not as legal title.
4. Your data is never sold
Never sold, never rented, never shared for someone else's marketing. What Avieros holds, why it holds it, and the live self-serve tools to see, export, correct, or delete it are on the Privacy & Data Rights page — and the working portal is live today at avieros.com/data-rights.
5. We source from the real record
Where a primary record exists, Avieros fetches it instead of estimating from a summary. Civic and money data — who represents you, what they sponsored, who funds them — come straight from official government sources (the FEC and Congress.gov). No number is invented where a real one can be pulled, and no gap is smoothed over to look more complete than it is. The full rules are on the Methodology page.
6. We stay neutral
Candidate Watch is strictly party-neutral and proof-based: it reports what officials actually did — how they voted, what they sponsored, who funded them — and links every claim to its source. It does not editorialize, endorse, or tilt. The hard rules our AI operates under, including this one, are on the AI page.
What is in force, and what is pending
Honesty means being clear about the status of a promise, not just its wording.
| Commitment | Status today |
|---|---|
| No pay-for-placement / no ads for ranking | In force. There is no ad or paid-ranking system to disable. |
| Never compete with members (aggregate-only learning) | In force where cross-member learning is built; enforced by database shape and triggers. |
| Members own and can transfer what they build | Platform ownership and transfer records exist; they are the ledger, not your legal title. |
| Data never sold, rented, or shared | In force. Live data-rights portal available now. |
| Primary-source civic and money data | In force for the connected sources (FEC, Congress.gov); gaps are shown, never filled with estimates. |
The two strongest promises here — never competing with members, and members owning what they build — are in force today as Avieros operating doctrine (§§21–22 of the Avieros Constitution). What is still pending is formal Foundation ratification: the step that locks them beyond even the founder's ability to change them unilaterally, alongside a public amendment and a published signature of the ratified text. Until that signature exists we will not claim it does. This page will be updated when it does.
Avieros does not hold SOC 2, ISO 27001, HIPAA, or any other third-party security or compliance certification, and this page does not imply one. Our real, current security posture — encryption in transit, database-level tenant isolation, automated secret scanning — and what we do not yet claim is on the Security page.
